Funding for biomedical technologies for preclinical development can be difficult to identify and difficult to obtain. ASCEND will help biomedical innovators in the Western IDeA states navigate this process through training events, advising, and biomedical pitches.

Call for ASCEND's 2020 Business Advising and Technology Pitch Cohort

Deadline: April 15, 2020 at 5PM PDT

ASCEND is looking for company nominations from each Hub academic institution! All nominations will go through technology review and receive feedback through a due diligence sheet. Companies will be selected based on innovation, stage of development and need. Companies that participate in the 2020 cohort will be eligible for ASCEND microgrants, ranging from $5,000-$10,000 for consultants, SBIR writers, travel to support pitching/meeting with investors and other tools needed to take the next steps.

The Business Advising cohort is designed to help early-stage biomedical companies take the next step towards commercialization. We will select 5 companies to participate in the 4-5 week cohort. Each company will have the opportunity to attend 4-5 one-on-one sessions with the ASCEND Business Advising team and industry mentors. The cohort will run from May 4th to May 29th.

Nominations are only open to companies associated with one of our partner academic institutions. Use the nomination form here: to apply by the deadline on April 15th, 2020 at 5 PM PDT.
